It's easy to set up your electricity services
It's important to plan ahead and allow a minimum of 48 hours notice for all new commercial account set-ups. While we do offer after-hours and weekend emergency connections, there is an extra cost associated with the service.
Our friendly and knowledgeable Customer Service team is available Monday to Friday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm to answer any questions you may have.

Methods to apply for electricity service:
- Call our Customer Service team at (905) 876-4611.
- New commercial customers can submit the Commercial Contract for Service Form. but will also need to contact our Customer Service team to arrange payment of the deposit at (905) 876-4611.
- Electricians and Service providers must arrange access to residences and businesses in advance, via our Engineering team, during regular business hours, at (905) 876-4611 ext 224.
*** If you have not set up your account before the move-in date, the service will be disconnected and a reconnection charge may be applied. ***
New Applicant Agreement
In submitting the Commercial Contract for Service Form, the applicant (herein called the customer) acknowledges and agrees to take and pay for electricity from Milton Hydro Distribution Inc. at the premises. In submitting this form, the customer agrees to the Milton Hydro Distribution Inc. Conditions of Service, some of which are outlined below. Billing Terms:
All residential accounts are billed monthly for hydro and bimonthly for water and wastewater/sewer. A $30.00 account set-up fee is applied to your first hydro bill.
Deposit Policy:
At this time Milton Hydro Distribution Inc. requires a deposit for commercial customers. Commercial customers will need to call the office to set up the commercial contract and arrange deposit..
Milton Hydro Distribution Inc. reserves the right to amend this policy, if required in the future.

Your Right to Privacy:
Milton Hydro Distribution Inc. (“Milton Hydro”) is pleased to be your provider of electricity distribution services and where connected to Town water, a billing agent for your water and wastewater services. Providing you with a reliable supply of electricity and/or billing for your water and wastewater services requires that Milton Hydro collect and keep certain personal information about you. We are committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information and we have developed policies and procedures in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronics Document Act (“PIPEDA”).
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the personal information that we collect, how it is used, how we protect its confidentiality and your rights in respect to this information.
The nature of personal information we collect may include:
- Information we receive from you such as your name, address, contact information and general financial, credit and reference information;
- Facts about your historical and current consumption of electricity and water;
- Information about your transactions with us, such as meter number, account number, account balances, payment history and account activity;
- Identifying information such as driver’s license.
Milton Hydro uses the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide you with continuous electricity service and to bill you for electric and/or water and wastewater services;
- To facilitate the pre-authorized payment option for services;
- To assist us in the collection of accounts;
- To respond to your inquiries about electricity and/or water use and billing;
- To prevent fraud with respect to both you and our company;
- To meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Because of the structure of the electricity sector in Ontario, it may be necessary to share your billing and consumption information with third party billing and settlement agencies. For example, if you have signed a separate contract with a retailer, we may provide your billing and consumption information to them. Our billing, settlement and regulatory relationships with third parties are governed by licenses and codes which are established by the Ontario Energy Board. As required by law or regulation, your information may also be shared or disclosed to other agencies or organizations.
We recognize that your information is private. We have developed a Corporate Privacy Policy Statement for Milton Hydro that governs our collection, use and protection of personal information. You can access our Privacy Policy on our web site or you can call us at (905) 876-4611 to request that a copy of this policy be sent to you. Our Privacy Policy came into effect on January 1, 2004 and may be updated periodically. Any change to our Privacy Policy Statement will be posted on our website; if the change is major, an additional notice will be sent to you.
You have the right to request access to your personal information which we have collected and to request amendments to personal information about you to ensure its accuracy and completeness. To make a request for access to personal information we may have collected, disclosed or used about you or to request that your personal information be amended, please send your request in writing to the attention of our Privacy Officer.

Please note, however, that the withdrawal of consent to the continued use of certain personal information may prevent us from continuing to provide you with some services, and a certain minimum amount of personal information is required in order to continue to provide electric distribution services and bill for water and wastewater services.
