Application for the Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER) for New Eligible Customers

The Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER) was introduced by the Ontario government to provide eligible residential customers, small businesses, farms, and other customers with relief on their electricity bills; the rebate is currently 17.0%.  

On March 24, 2021 the Ontario government expanded eligibility requirements for the OER. Starting on July 1, 2022 the OER has been expanded for multi-unit residential or commercial accounts that are predominantly residential or have common elements of a multi-unit complex.  Expanded eligibility also includes retirement residences and mobile home parks that are not receiving the rebate.   

Time-of-use customers; Single-unit residential accounts; and multi-unit residential accounts billed by Milton Hydro, already receive the OER and do not need to complete the form. The image below highlights the part of a customer’s bill that indicates whether or not they are receiving the OER.

New eligible customers can apply for the OER by completing the application form below and emailing it to customerservice@miltonhydro.com. Once the OER is applied, it will automatically appear on a separate line of a customer’s electricity bill.
