AEUSP industry leaders in safety gather at Milton Hydro to share expertise, strengthen practices, and advance a harm-free future
Collaboration at the Core of Safety Excellence
Safety professionals from across Ontario will gather in Milton this week as Milton Hydro Distribution Inc. (Milton Hydro) prepares to host a regional meeting of the
Association of Electrical Utility Safety Professionals (AEUSP).
Taking place June 17–18, the two-day session will bring together representatives from utilities and contractor organizations. The meeting will focus on advancing shared safety priorities and strengthening collaboration across Ontario’s electrical utility sector.
The forum is expected to provide a platform for meaningful discussion on key issues shaping workplace safety. Participants will hear updates from the Provincial Labour Management Safety Committee and see a demonstration of how virtual learning modules can de-risk training by rendering depictions of real-life work scenarios in safe virtual settings. Attendees will also review recent industry events, including incident summaries and corrective actions, reinforcing a shared commitment to continuous improvement and proactive risk prevention.
AEUSP serves as a collaborative network for safety professionals across Ontario’s electrical utility industry, connecting both utilities and the contractors who support them. Through regular meetings and open dialogue, members share insights, address emerging challenges, and work collectively to strengthen safety performance across the sector.
Organizations represented within AEUSP are committed to advancing health, safety, and environmental outcomes by adopting leading practices in injury prevention and risk mitigation. By working together and sharing knowledge, members contribute to building a safer, more resilient industry for workers and communities alike.
