Empowering Future Generations Through Take Our Kids to Work Day
Take Our Kids to Work Day has been a celebrated tradition in Ontario since 1994, originally created by The Learning Partnership and now supported by The Students Commission of Canada, to introduce Grade 9 students to the workforce. This program allows students to spend a day in the workplace, gaining an early look into potential career paths and the skills needed to succeed. Here at Milton Hydro, we’re thrilled to introduce the next generation to the world of energy and utilities!
With the increasing drive toward electrification, there’s never been a more exciting time to explore a career in the utilities sector. As our communities grow and business needs evolve, the demand on our electrical grid is set to rise exponentially. The energy sector will need forward-thinking, skilled professionals to help manage, expand, and innovate within this critical industry.
By participating in Take Our Kids to Work Day, we hope to spark interest in the many opportunities available in the energy field. From engineering and technical roles to environmental science and customer service, our industry offers a diverse array of careers. Introducing students to the challenges and rewards of working in utilities helps them understand the vital role energy plays in everyone’s lives – now and in the future.
At Milton Hydro, we’re committed to helping inspire and guide these young minds as they look toward their futures.
